WHY CAREERROAST?

Funny enough to remember.
Useful enough to act on.

01

Bring the evidence.

Paste your CV, add a portfolio website link, or paste portfolio copy. Real examples make for better feedback than a generic checklist.

02

Choose the temperature.

Keep it gentle or turn up the heat. We critique vague claims and missing proof, never your identity.

03

Leave with a direction.

Get a fix for each blind spot. Share your scorecard only if you want to; your source text stays private.

BEFORE YOU TAKE THE HEAT

CV and portfolio review: your questions answered.

How do I get a free CV or resume review?

Choose Resume / CV in the roast room. Upload a PDF, Word .docx or .txt file up to 5 MB, or paste your text. Choose your heat level and select Roast my work for an explained text-quality score, observations and specific improvements.

Can CareerRoast review my portfolio website?

Yes. Choose Portfolio and enter your public website link. We review readable text from that page, including how you explain your work and results. Images, visual design and linked case studies are not assessed. If your site relies on JavaScript or requires a login, paste your portfolio copy instead.

What does the CV score measure?

The score uses rule-based text checks for clarity, evidence and structure. CareerRoast does not currently use an LLM. It is not an ATS compatibility test, hiring prediction or guarantee of an interview. Use the feedback to strengthen your wording and examples.

Is my uploaded CV stored or sent to an AI service?

CV files are read in your browser and are not uploaded to our server or sent to an AI service. Portfolio URLs are sent to our scanner so it can read the public page. Downloaded share cards omit your contact details; review the card before sharing it.

Is CareerRoast free to use in Nigeria?

Yes. The current CV and portfolio review is free, requires no account and works in a modern browser on a phone or computer. A paid improvement pack is planned, but no payment or subscription is active in this beta.
